Donald Millar

My clients come to me as a dealmaker who shares their mindset—driven by the same goals in substance and timescale. I deliver responsiveness, transparency, and commerciality, approaching every matter as a detail-driven, completion-focused lawyer. Relationships are at the heart of why I chose law; I anticipate challenges, mitigate red flags, and navigate complexities with clarity and without unnecessary stress.

Donald spent 10 years with Brodies LLP in Edinburgh before joining the commercial property team at Collas Crill LLP.

He is an experienced real estate lawyer with a practice focused on commercial property, development, and finance. He lives and breathes advising on acquisitions and disposals of commercial assets (including complex leasehold structures), large-scale development and infrastructure projects, and real estate financing transactions for both lenders and borrowers.

Donald has particular expertise in the Guernsey market, where he regularly advises on commercial investments and financings, as well as planning, construction, and regulatory aspects of development projects.

He acts for international investors, local businesses, and financial institutions on cross-border matters, including multi-jurisdictional transactions involving offshore structures and commercial property portfolios. Donald combines technical expertise with a pragmatic, commercial approach, helping clients achieve their objectives efficiently and with confidence.
